Deepest Hole

from In my blood by Johnathan Martin

/

about

This song I wrote in respect for those suffering from depression and have only their music keeping them from ending their misery. My father's suicide when I was 9 years old gave me insight into the darkness and absolute solitude. I have covered a Nick Drake song 'Black eyed Dog' that is similar in its dealing with depression and suicide.

lyrics

Here's the time,
all is never lost,
Find the grain,
then you try to ride,

...as you help yourself into the deepest hole

Feel the rain,
coming to your aid,
Winds of change,
save you from the grave,

...as you help yourself into the deepest hole

You wake in love,
the curse is always real,
Sealed in blood,
now you learn to feel

...as you help yourself into the deepest hole.
